Day 30 - Museo Del Nación
Despite Sam and Mark having raging hangovers, I decided to take myself down (with new crazy Australia Suzi) to the Museo del Nación (National Museum) of Peru, which has THE most prolific range of Inca and Pre-Inca pottery and artefacts in the world. Which kinda makes sense, since the Incas were from Peru. There are literally HUNDREDS of ceramic pots and totem poles. Tonnes of obscure maps without any additional information (just to baffle you further), but an impressive collection of mummy heads and some decent displays on how the inca culture developed from its surrounding cultures in the 300 years before the Incas made it big.
That evening we played cards until we couldn't stand the sight of them any more, and planned to watch the england game in the morning, then bomb off to Huachachina - a desert oasis in the middle of southern peru, 4 hours away.
